Popular perception is that leaders always have the right answers, but this is not true. The truth is, leaders ask the right questions, enable people to find the right answers and and point where to find the best answers.
Leaders who empowers their followers encourage their followers to think and find answers, won't make them dependent on leaders to look up to the leaders to know the right answers. It is also an indicator, that if every one in your group is asking the same question, then there isn't much innovation there.
As a leader, you don’t need to have all the answers. Instead you need to focus on asking the right questions, engaging your team and focusing on what you’re actually doing. All great leaders have moments of doubt and go through periods of struggle. Focus on having the wisdom to ask the right questions of yourself and others, and have the courage to act on what you learn.
Without questioning and curiosity, leaders simply manage by using familiar answers long after the marketplace has started asking different questions. It isn't about knowing the answers as much as it is about knowing who to ask and where to look.
