Top Human Resources mistakes leaders make

Leadership is about working through people. To work through people effectively leader must receive cooperation and support from people.  To receive support and cooperation a leader must consistently communicate and demonstrate that people important. When people know they are important and valued they will support and cooperate with the leader to achieve great business results. 

A survey highlights there are the top three Human Resources mistakes that every CEO makes?” 1) 64% – CEOs don’t recognize what truly motivates employees; 2) 41% – CEOs fail to lead by example in key HR initiatives; 3) 32% – CEOs don’t make company culture a priority. 
These mistakes send out a message: you / People are not that important to me.  So, how you will send out the message that people are very important? For that a leader must understand and recognize what motivates people. Get curious, Ask and be willing to hear things that differ from what’s motivating to you as a leader, or from what you think ought to be motivating to them.  Talk to your HR people, if they’re good and you respect them about what’s most meaningful to people, and how you can incorporate that into your reward systems.


Communicate and demonstrate clear message that people are important and they are valued, understand what motivates; this will help to get their support and cooperation to work through people effectively.
